I’m awed by the miracles we walk amongst. Do you see them?
There are everyday miracles we take for granted, like the fact that our eyes can perceive light, our hearts beat without our knowledge, and the earth was perfectly created with the air, water, and elements needed to sustain our bodies.
There are the miracles of our relationships—that two people can choose to yoke themselves together at a young age and stay married long enough to see one another turn gray, the wrinkles forgiven by dimming eyesight.
There is the miracle of children and how suddenly a quiet home can be filled with the voices and activity of entirely new people who didn’t previously exist. It took forty years to meet my youngest son, yet somehow, once he was born, it was as if he was always there, waiting for his part of the story to unfold.
There are miracles we help bring to fruition—like the two books I helped write and edit over the past month. As I held one of the printed books today, I also beheld the miracle of how a manuscript can be transformed into an actual book that has a life and purpose of its own.
Some miracles are gifts we didn’t earn—like when a prayer is suddenly answered, or a desperately ill friend somehow regains her strength and her countenance, when there’s no way that should be possible.
There are unexpected but recurring miracles—like when chapters in life close with such finality, and then a few beats later an entirely new plot unfolds.
You see, we’re living in the midst of miracles. Our lives, our breaths, our homes, our livelihoods are all evidence of God’s grace, His faithfulness, and His sustaining care. What miracles do you see around you today?
What a great reminder to stop and take notice of the miracle working power of our Lord. ❤️
Yes I totally agree Susan. God’s so good and his blessings and mercy are new every morning. Thank you for sharing, love this post.
